Workshop Overview

Greetings! We’re excited to invite you to a transformative workshop designed to guide you through the journey of modernizing your application by migrating to open-source databases on AWS — one of the key pathways to modernization.

The Migration and Modernization Acceleration (MMA) Workshop (Powered by GenAI) is a comprehensive migration and modernization experience that guides customers through the process of migrating their Oracle databases and their application-associated embedded SQL code to PostgreSQL. The workshop uniquely incorporates Amazon Q Developer, AWS's GenAI augmented solution, to help alleviate labor-intensive tasks and accelerate the database migration process.

Through this immersive workshop, participants gain practical migration and modernization experience with live applications while learning how to transform their database systems to Aurora PostgreSQL Serverless v2. The workshop content can be reused to use Aurora PostgreSQL and RDS for PostgreSQL as a target.

Requirements:

  • Bring your own laptop [no laptop will be provided onsite]
  • Understanding of basic ML concepts (helpful but not required)
  • AWS account with necessary permissions (will be provided during the workshop)
