Taiwan’s shrinking and ageing population is a growing concern for both the natio
nal and municipal authorities. In response, authorities at all levels of government are devising and implementing a number of measures to support families and create a family friendly environment in Taiwan. The Taipei City Government's departments of Social Welfare, Education, and Labor provide a diverse range of family friendly support services. This includes infant and childcare services and economic subsidies for infants and young children. At this event, three guest speakers from the respective departments will share some of the ways that they are supporting the development of families in the city.
Among other topics, the division chief from the Department of Social Welfare will discuss diverse and friendly parenting support services in the city, including infant and childcare services, economic subsidies for young children, and the introduction of workplace nannies. The division chief from the Department of Education will talk about preschool education policy, including the expansion of childcare services, reducing the childcare burden through school subsidy policies, and progress in preschool education policy. The senior specialist from the Department of Labor will talk about the application process for employers seeking childcare services and subsidies, covering acts related to childcare services, application procedures, and subsidy details. At same time will also talk about the “Taiwan's inaugural Parenting Friendly Enterprise Award(友善育兒事業獎)” which launched by Taipei City Government recently, it demonstrating the city's dedication to fostering a parenting-friendly environment. It will also introduce a Parenting-Friendly Workplace Standards to ECCT members.
Following their presentations, speakers will engage in a Q&A session with members to answer questions and discuss ways for members to cooperate with city authorities to develop strategies to create a family friendly environment in Taipei.
