台灣2024年總統大選在即，台灣美國商會將推出一系列與總統候選人面對面的活動，讓商會成員更深入了解各候選人的執政理念，特別針對美國商會所關心的議題，分享他們寶貴的觀點與想法。在國際議題方面，我們將了解候選人對於台美21世紀貿易協議、台美避免雙重課稅協議等議題的分析，以及對於如何強化台灣參與國際事務的願景；而在國內議題方面，期待候選人分享能源供應與韌性、建立良好法規環境、實現永續發展，以及發展醫療體系的永續性等重要議題。

Meet the Presidential Candidate – Mr. Lai Ching-te
The impending 2024 presidential election in Taiwan has prompted the American Chamber of Commerce in Taiwan to initiate a series of interactive events with the presidential candidates. These events aim to provide the Chamber’s members a deeper insight into each candidate’s political philosophy. The candidates will specifically address and share their perspectives on issues of importance to the AmCham. In terms of international matters, we will delve into the candidates’ take on the US-Taiwan 21st Century Trade Agreement, the US-Taiwan Agreement to Avoid Double Taxation, and their aspirations for bolstering Taiwan’s role in international affairs. As for local issues, we anticipate candidates to discuss vital topics such as energy supply and resilience, the creation of a favorable regulatory environment, sustainable development, and the sustainability of the healthcare system.
We are privileged to have Mr. Lai Ching-te, the Vice President of the Republic of China (Taiwan), as a guest at our luncheon. Mr. Lai will focus his discourse on the Chamber’s areas of interest and the event will offer a unique opportunity for interactive dialogue. Attendees will have the chance to gain a deeper understanding of Mr. Lai’s strategies for governing Taiwan through a Q&A session.
